Darien, IL – ITS Technologies & Logistics, LLC (“ITSTL”) is pleased to announce the purchase of certain rail terminal assets of World Distribution Services (“WDS”), an intermodal services company, headquartered in Cleveland, OH, and a division of the World Group companies.

ITSTL assumes the operation of five Norfolk Southern intermodal rail terminals previously operated by WDS, located in Cincinnati, OH (2 terminals), Louisville, KY (2 terminals), and Greensboro, NC.

“WDS’ five rail terminals are a perfect fit for ITSTL as part of our overall growth strategy,” said Steve Rubin, CEO of ITSTL.  “WDS is a well-respected rail intermodal operator, and the addition of these five terminals will bring ITSTL’s total to over 50 rail terminals operated in the U.S. and Mexico.”

According to a Company spokesperson, all parties have carefully engineered the transaction to ensure that WDS’ customer will not experience any changes in the handling of its account, operations, or services that it currently receives from WDS.

“Due to our strategic focus on providing customized solutions directly to the beneficial cargo owners, we feel the transition of these five operations to ITS is in alignment with our overall corporate direction,” said Frederick Hunger, President of the World Group companies.

ITSTL is the industry-leading provider of rail intermodal terminal, container depot, and auto loading and unloading services via its operating units In-Terminal Services, ConGlobal Industries, and American Auto Works.  Serving North America’s Class I railroads and the world’s largest steamship lines, container leasing companies, and chassis pool operators, ITSTL operates at over 90 facilities in the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica with 3,000 employees.
